- 1/4 cup (60ml) maple syrup, plus extra to serve
- 50g (5-6) chopped dried figs
- 1 tablespoon chopped pecan nut
- 4 Granny Smith apples, cored

- Preheat oven to 180u00b0C. Mix the butter, maple syrup, dried figs and pecans.
- Use a sharp knife to make a shallow cut through the skin around the middle of the apple - this prevents the skin from bursting during cooking.
- Spoon the butter mixture into the cavity of the apples. Place in a baking dish. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes. Serve hot, drizzled with maple syrup and custard.
